ADELAIDE superstar Patrick Dangerfield condemned Brisbane to its second-straight loss to open the season with a starring role in the Crows' 19-point victory at the Gabba.
Brisbane will enter this Saturday's QClash against the Gold Coast with a grim 0-2 record after Dangerfield kicked two critical goals in the final quarter to guide the Crows to a hard-fought win.
Brisbane was brave and bold but the bottom line is that the Lions were wasteful in front of goal and paid the price.
The final margin did not indicate how tight the contest was all day.

Both sides slugged it out in wet conditions and a couple of late goals blew the score out.
The Lions led by nine point early in the fourth term but Dangerfield - who finished with 23 disposals - turned on the magic.
A running goal on his left from 50 metres was the entre and a high, curling right-foot snap was the main course for Dangerfield who was well supported by Scott Thompson (31 touches). Taylor Walker, Jared Petrenko and Josh Jenkins were the other multiple goalkickers for Adelaide with two majors apiece.
Irishman Pearce Hanley (30 disposals), Dayne Zorko (two goals, six inside 50s), Matthew Leuenberger (32 hitouts) and Daniel Merrett battled manfully for Brisbane but the Lions will lament having one more scoring shot than the Crows but still finishing empty-handed.
Brisbane stormed to a eight-point buffer at the last change after a see-sawing third quarter.
After a Hanley goal put Brisbane in front in the opening minutes, goals to Sam Jacobs and Jared Petrenko helped the visitors jump to a 13-point lead.
But majors to Zorko, Tom Rockliff and Rohan Bewick allowed the Lions to roar back into the match in front of 21, 305 spectators.
Adelaide took a seven-point lead into the main break after threatening to run away with the contest in the spiteful second term but Brisbane did well to halt the Crows' ominous momentum.
Scores were level at quarter-time after a gritty arm-wrestle in the opening term when both sides failed to capitalise on their chances in front of goal. A pre-match shower left the Gabba surface greasy and ball-handling difficult especially with both teams keen to impose themselves physically after disappointing Round 1 losses.
The Crows started strongly in the second quarter with goals to Rory Sloane and Brent Reilly as Adelaide found it far too easy to get the ball inside their attacking 50.
An outstanding goal from Walker - who picked up a loose ball, spun and snapped with his left foot from 45 metres out - was a brilliant touch of class in the difficult conditions and signalled a possible turning point in the tight, hard-fought contest.
However, two opportunistic majors to Lions goalsneak Josh Green dragged the home side back into the match to leave the match delicately balanced.
Adelaide captain Nathan Van Berlo could come under the microscope of the Match Review Panel after an incident in the second quarter involving Lions on-baller Tom Rickliff. Van Berlo appeared to strike Rickliff in the jaw as they scrapped for the ball in a contest.
The right hook sparked a minor melee which upped the ante late in the second half.
Hanley was a prime mover in the first half with 19 touches for Brisbane while Dangerfield had 17 disposals for the Crows.
